I am the goddamn poster child for abstinence.

Guess what? I’m also on birth control. I’ve been on birth control for almost a year now. It was literally the best health decision I’ve made for myself.

Just because you aren’t fucking doesn’t mean you shouldn’t educate yourself about your body. Sexual health isn’t something you ignore until you have sex.

Problems can happen with your reproductive system that are completely outside of sexual activity. Cysts, bleeding, heavy cramps, irregular periods and what about the HPV vaccine? Do you know you should get the HPV vaccine before you start doing something sexual with someone? That you can never have sex and still contract HPV?

PP helped me get birth control to regulate my period, eliminate my debilitating cramps, and be able to keep down a job. I’m a poor college kid who is barred from using my parents’ insurance to get pills that have greatly increased my quality of life. Guess who pushed me in the right direction for getting my own insurance?

No one is telling you to fuck. If you don’t want to fuck until marriage, that’s fantastic! If you want to fuck right now, that’s fantastic! Regardless of what you choose, your sexual health is your health. Do not be ignorant about it. Do not. Do not. DO NOT. Shame other people for whatever choice they choose to make about their sex life.
